Companies are putting tracking sensors on their employees! The devices are attached on employees' badges and and include bluetooth, microphone, motion sensor, and infrared beam. They are able to identify a person's tone of voice and movement when interacting with others. Bank of America, Steelcase, and Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc. are already using it and General Motors is talking about it. It was created by a team of Ph.D MIT students who decided to observe what makes certain workplaces be as good as Google's at building teams.

Bank of America used the sensors a few years ago and it studied how group interactions impacted performance. The sensor was attached to 90 call center employees. The bank then realized how important it was to allow employees to take breaks together because during their brakes together, employees would often resolve/share their workplace problems. Do you believe that the information being tracked is really going to help to improve the life of companies and employees?
