Anne Frank, who hid from the Nazis during World War II in Amsterdam, wrote in her diary about one of the few things she could see outside, which was a chestnut tree. She died in a concentration camp. The chestnut tree was taken down in August, 2010, due to rot. Eleven locations in the United States will be getting saplings from the tree to preserve her legacy and promote tolerance.
