"Once George was asleep, Dr. Tristan ran a tube from the maintenance bucket which was being oxygenated, into George's mouth, so that the water with the maintenance dose of anesthetic washed over his gills," the hospital said on their Facebook page. "George is now doing great; he spent a few days in the tank, and is now swimming happily in the pond," Dr Tristan told Fairfax Media, who has performed surgery on fish just 10 times in his career.
