Grade 7 and 8 students could face child pornography charges after Waterloo Region Police launched an investigation into the nude selfies spreading through numerous schools in the region. Boys and girls took the photos in the fall "almost as a joke" to send to friends, Staff Sgt. Mike Haffner said. Police first heard about the photos last week when the school board got wind of the bullying that was happening as a result of these photos getting into the wrong hands. Students have been demanding chocolate bars and money in exchange for not splashing the pictures across various social networks, including Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. Are you aware of this news story?

Charges for the possession, creation and distribution of child pornography could be laid on these students involved, most of them being 12 or 13 years old. You can be charged in Canada at age 12. Do you think that these children should face criminal charges for this? Definitely yes -- they need to face harsh penalties

Although it would seem logical to assume this was because of cell phone use in this case, the pictures were taken on a wide range of electronics, including Nintendo DS, iPads, and iPods. Do you think that schools should ban these forms of electronic devises from their premises? Definitely
