On Sunday, the Toronto Star published detailed allegations about former CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi, who was fired by the CBC that same day. The Star conducted detailed interviews with three women, who allege Ghomeshi physically attacked them without their consent during sexual encounters. A fourth woman, who worked at CBC, claimed Ghomeshi told her at work: “I want to hate f--- you.” In a Facebook post, Ghomeshi denied engaging in nonconsensual sexual acts, explaining he participates in “adventurous forms of sex that included role-play, dominance and submission.” The host of the popular arts and culture program Q says he has “done nothing wrong” and is the subject of “harassment, vengeance and demonization.” Ghomeshi is suing the CBC for $55 million, accusing the company of unfair “moral judgment” of his sexual life in the decision to fire him. This case, which has only been reported by the media and online, is in fact now being 'tried' online, with many already siding with either the women and CBC or Ghomeshi.

Do you agree that the access of information on social media gives the public too much access to what would have been a private matter years ago?

Right now this is a civil case, but if allegations should be proven to be true, this could turn into a criminal case, involving sexual violence. Ghomeshi claims the sex was consensual, while the alleged victims in the case say the sex was nonconsensual and unwanted. In this case, is it possible to separate the man from his behavior? If allegations against Ghomeshi prove to be false, would you still support the CBC rehiring him?
If the CBC rehires him, I would support it 100%--his sexual life is HIS life
