Did you know that the U.S. is going to try what Canada has already begun with about six Alzheimer's patients about 12 months ago--implanting Alzheimer's patients with something similar to a pacemaker in the brain?

In the U.S., only a few dozen Alzheimer patients will participate in the study. If it is successful, do you think anyone you know with Alzheimer's would want to participate?

It is said that the implant targets the brain circuits involved in memory and thinking and, in the Canadian study, it showed a sign of more activity in areas targeted by Alzheimer's. With this finding, would you be more apt to have a family member with the early stages of Alzheimer's have the same procedure done if/when it is available?
