A central California retirement home nurse refused a 911 operator's request to perform CPR on an 87 year old resident who collapsed in the dining room and could hardly breathe. The 87 year old later died. The nurse stated it was company policy that an employee would not perform CPR on residents. The nurse did not try to go outside and get a non-employee to try to perform CPR as requested also by the 911 operator.
