Several weeks ago, my wife's friend suggested that they do a "flash mob" for charity. The day of the flash mob, my wife's friend notified her that she wasn't going to do it, because she didn't practice enough. My wife felt a bit abandoned. Do you think she has a right to feel this way?
Yes. Once you make a commitment to do something, you should follow through.

No. If it isn't a required commitment, it gives you the flexibility to back out at any time.

If this happened to you, would you tend to not make commitments of this sort with this friend again?
Yes. It's obvious that this friend is not reliable and can't be counted on.
