Charlie Blackmore, a Marine Corps veteran from Wisconsin who served from 2005 to 2007 and who also happens to have a concealed carry permit for a 9mm handgun, was driving to work on March 12, 2013, and saw a woman being kicked in the head and belly by a man at the side of the road. If you were him, what would you do?

Well, it turns out the Marine veteran did stop, get out of his car, and told the man to stop. The man who was assaulting the woman was about 6' tall & about 220 lbs. He starts coming towards the Marine, so the Marine pulled out his weapon and told him if he keeps coming, he'll shoot him. The Marine calls 911 and tells the operator what is happening. The cops come and double check the Marine's permit and take the Marine's statement and let him go. The man who was assaulting the woman was not shot. Question is, are you glad people are allowed to carry a gun with a permit?

If you were the one being assaulted, would you think you would stand a better chance is someone with a permit with a gun stopped to help versus someone stopping to help without a weapon?
