Mars Curiosity rover pulled a powdered rock sample out of a rock on Mars and it tested positive for sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorous and carbon--among the major players in the biological cycles of earthly living things. Per NASA, it increasingly appears that Mars is a very inviting environment: Low acidity, full of water, with signs of chemically complementary compounds.
