Canada's Loblaws Inc has joined in an international effort to help Bangladesh textile companies ensure they have proper working conditions. The efforts come after over 1000 people were killed in garment factories after a fire. Some companies, such as Wal-Mart, refuse to sign the agreement as they think these steps are unnecessary. With 279 factories in Bangladesh, they would have been a large addition to the agreement.
