Results: Charities that call you for money

Years ago I received a phone call from a large, well-known charity. I decided to donate $10. For a long time afterward, I kept receiving regular calls from them. I donated a couple more times but kept getting more calls soon after. I asked one of them, "Didn't I just give you $10 last week?" and she said I hadn't. I figured out that this charity had many divisions that obtained my information and continually called until I just started hanging up. Once I was also scammed by someone pretending to be from a well-known charity. Now when a charity calls I simply say, "I don't do this over the phone" and hang up. I make donations on my own.
