Results: Would you have gone?

My husbands dad and step mom have been married a year longer than us. My mother in law's family lives 10 hrs away from us. Recently they wanted us to go for a visit with them to meet her family. My husband and I have two kids a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old.(Neither of them travel well). They wanted us to leave Friday morning just stopping to eat and bathroom breaks, and come back Monday morning. We would all ride together with my father in law whom has menieres disease (he gets dizzy and starts to puke when he has flare ups which are caused by stress and loud noises). I told them that work wouldn't let me have the time off. Should we have gone?

My father in law gets stressed when things do not go the way he thinks they will go. Do you think that 10 hrs is a reasonable driving time?

I did try telling them that the kids do not travel well but they didn't seem to care. Is it wrong that I blamed work?
