So what this memorial does is recognize the accomplishments and stories of women in the military. Even though women have been buried in national cemeteries, they didn't always get a headstone, or inscription as men did. So isn't this memorial a catch-up from the past as the LGBTQ memorial is?

Finally, in more general terms, there are about 23 marginalized communities that have equity issues among them. Should any type of success or forward movement towards equality warrant public recognition?
