Prison Officials in Florida are concerned that a large number of non-Jewish inmates are demanding kosher food. Officials had expected about 300 prisoners to request kosher meals, but more than 4,400 want the special meals. The kosher meals are in demand because they taste better than traditional prison meals. They are prepared outside the facility and individually wrapped to ensure purity. The state says it costs too much money to prepare special meals. Kosher meals costs $7 a day compared to $1.54 for regular meals. Do you think non-Jewish inmates should be given kosher meals if they request them?
