Abandoned and foreclosed buildings are attractive targets for copper thieves, but businesses and schools that are closed for the day or a weekend may also be hit. Sometimes wire from street lights or other outdoor lighting is stolen. The damage caused by ripping out the copper often far exceeds the cost of material and labor needed to replace the wire or pipes. Is copper theft a problem in your community?
