Results: Should guns be in the hands of our local school teachers' hands to possibly better protect our children in case of any type danger?

As a former elementary school, third grade, teacher in North Carolina, USA, I would NEVER want the responsibility of having and using a gun to protect our stduents even with proper training. It is hard enough to teach the state curriculum and I do not like to be around guns of any kind. Having guns in the classroom, can cause all types of problems. For instance, recently there were two reports in the national news where a teacher accidentially discharged the gun in the classroom, fortunately, no one was injured. Another case was a safety officer teaching in his classroom accidentially discharged his gun in the classroom and this time a male student was hit and graised my the bullet. In these two cases, things could have turned tragic. Also, the guns the teachers would have could be taken from them by the assailant and turned against the teacher and students. What are your thoughts?
