Results: Left Brain vs Right Brain

As adults we accept each other for who we are, meaning if you are good in math and the sciences, I value you no more or no less than if you had a degree in the arts. Having said that, why is it then, that schools, teachers and parents harp on kids to be excellent in every subject when we don't hold those same expectations towards adults? Should we force kids to strive for excellence in every subject or accept them as they are academically; fostering their talents and the subjects they are good at?

Did you know that AAA gives discounts to the following professions/careers: An Engineer, a Scientist, a Doctor, a Teacher and a Lawyer. If you are an artist, a writer, an actor, a poet, or a dancer, you get no discount from AAA. Do you think this type of reward system sends the exact message that I am talking about in the above questions and answers?

Are these social values responsible, thus influencing decision makers when they cut art, music, drama, and dance from school and city program budgets?
