Tiffany Girls (Part 5 of 6)

1. Clara Driscoll not only designed beautiful Tiffany lampshades, she also created some of the candlesticks, inkstands, and mosaic-clad items that helped Louis Comfort Tiffany earn his reputation. She did receive recognition when she won a Bronze Medal at the 1900 Paris World's Fair for her dragonfly lamp design (pictured). Many other dragonfly designs followed. Do you like dragonflies?

2. Although they sold for about $400 when made, Tiffany's antique lampshades made of lustrous pieces of glass set in bronze now sell for thousands, if not millions of dollars. This Pond Lily lamp sold for 3.4 million dollars at Christies in 2018. Can you understand someone who can afford it spending that much money for something like this?
