Results: Superstars and Their Fans

Have you heard of the latest fan incident involving Cody Bellinger, in which an over-zealous fan ran on field to get a hug from him?

Have you ever been tempted to run out onto a field or on stage to hug a star athlete, singer, or actor/actress?

If you heard about the Cody Bellinger fan incident, did you get a chance to listen to his response?

Did you hear Cody refer to the girl as a "chick"? If so, don't you believe that to be not only an outdated term but mostly sexist?

I personally was disappointed with his reference to her as a "chick" and then his comment to the young 14-year old girl in which he said, "You know your going to jail"? It seemed rather cold. Do you believe it was cold and righteous of him to point that out?

This fan incident happened just two nights after a foul ball from Cody hit a fan (not his fault) and I believed he might have been the cool baseball player and allowed the 14-year old a hug. Later, I considered that if he had hugged her back that maybe a string of girls would believe it was okay to do such a thing. In fact, it happened again last night. For a second night in a row, another girl ran to hug Cody. The LA Times reported that fans are encouraged to meet and greet their favorite players during scheduled opportunities or they are welcome to come before the game. Do you feel that the Dodgers should schedule a special meet and greet with Cody for these fans?

Incidentally, the Dodgers will beef up security around Cody Bellinger, but maybe the should schedule a meet and greet for his fans. If so, the Dodgers could schedule a meet and greet with Bellinger for hugs but with a charge. Perhaps allow fans to pay something like $20 for a hug and the proceeds could go to the LA homeless shelter or a charity of Bellinger's choice? What do you think?
