A Star Is Born, now playing at the theaters, stars Bradley Cooper and an almost unrecognizable Lady Gaga -- definitely not the same Lady Gaga who wore a meat dress or pop star who masked herself with face paint, headdresses and hairpieces. This Lady Gaga (or Stefani Germanotta) is raw, unmasked and vulnerable, and is being praised for her role as "guaranteed to be nominated for an Oscar". The movie got an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes (a movie rating site based on positive reviews) and is being called a remake done right. Have you seen the movie or do you plan to?

Usually remakes are never as good as the original, but in this case, critics and audiences are saying this is not the case. According to Rotten Tomatoes " With appealing leads, deft direction, and an affecting love story, A Star Is Born is a remake done right -- and a reminder that some stories can be just as effective in the retelling." In fact, this is one movie that just seems to lend itself to remakes, updating the music and story appropriately and bringing the story to a whole new, and also often already familiar audience. Did you happen to see any of the other A Star Is Born movies?

Lady Gaga is indeed a revelation. But Bradley Cooper (who I admit I have a big crush on) proves he is so much more than a good actor. He directed the film, as well as starring in it, and he too is being complimented and there's Oscar talk for both his role and direction. But Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were not the first duo earmarked for this remake. There has been talk of a remake for years, since 2002, with several interesting duos up for the roles. Even for a fleeting moment, Tom Cruise was considered for the role. Which ones of these (all considered at one point) do you think you would have liked to see in the remake?

In a soundtrack filled with gorgeous music (and yes Bradley Cooper can sing) this song from the film, is being called one of the most beautiful songs to come out in years. Listen to this song, and say what your think?
