Sir Rod Stewart doesn't care if you think he's sexy any more. He's come a long way from those days, and recently released his most personal song yet, "Didn't I", which describes the devastating effects of drug use from a parent's perspective. In the song, Sir Rod sings about a daughter who is warned by her father "that stuff is going to kill you" as she travels to Hollywood. He sings: "But you thought it was cool, and I was just an old fool," before ending with: "Now I stand by your bedside watching you fight for your life." While the song is not said to be about any of his own children, Rod's son Sean battled addiction in the past. However, thanks to Rod's support and two trips to rehab, he managed to turn his life around. Are you a fan of Rod Stewart and do you like this new song?

It's almost impossible to find someone who doesn't feel a strong connection to music. Even if you can't sing or play an instrument, you can probably reel off a list of songs that evoke happy memories and raise your spirits. Surgeons have long played their favorite music to relieve stress in the operating room, and extending music to patients has been linked to improved surgical outcomes. In the past few decades, music therapy has played an increasing role in all facets of healing, both physical and emotional. Here are just some of the benefits of music as therapy. Which ones are you aware of?

Music can also heal us emotionally, as evidenced by that one song that helps you through a rough time. John Ondrasik's (Five For Fighting) hit song, "Superman" unexpectedly did just that as it became an anthem in the days after 9/11. Its lyrics resonated with people, bringing a sense of raw humanity and comfort to those who needed it most. Do you remember hearing this song at that time?

When dealing with grief, pain, loss or any number of tough issues, music can convey the complexity of our feelings better than words. Songwriters for years have captured exactly what we are feeling in a single song, and often this song becomes our "go to" song when we need some comfort and guidance. Some prefer gospel, inspirational, classics or even classical -- it doesn't matter what the song, it's the emotion behind it and how it makes us feel. This video is one of the several songs that does that for me. Do you have that one song that makes you feel this way?
