Several weeks ago, my husband and I attended a fundraising dinner for SickKids Hospital in Toronto, and enjoyed a musical performance by none other than Andy Kim. That's right, the same Andy Kim, who you may remember from the 60's and 70's, who had several hit songs -- Rock Me Gently, Baby, I Love You and Shoot 'Em Up, Baby, to name a few. He sounded great, and the crowd loved him. Afterwards a few of us went over to talk to him, and he told us he is once again performing. Who knew! Do you remember Andy Kim, and how much of this trivia about him did you know?

Kim's music came into the public eye, as "Rock Me Gently" was sped up slightly and used by Jeep for their Jeep Liberty commercial ("Pouring In"). His name can be seen on the radio display near the beginning of the commercial.

This got me curious. Many of our favorite performers from the good old days are still around and some are still performing -- The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan and many others. But every once in a while, you see an act headlining a venue, and can't help thinking "wow, so they are still around"! How many of these did you know were still around (performing or not)?
Loretta Lynn -- Starting her career in 1960 with the song "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl," Lynn has had decades of hits and award wins. In 2013, she even received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama. Lynn has battled her share of health issues in recent years. In 2017, the country music legend suffered a stroke, as she battled back from it, suffered a fall at her Tennessee home, which resulted in a broken hip.

Johnny Mathis -- Known for his velvet voice, Mathis not only won the hearts of a lot of women, he gave us some beautiful songs, including Chances Are and Wonderful! Wonderful! He is still touring, and is in the middle of a U.S. tour right now
