Christmas is known generally as a holiday of joy and merriment. But, it's fitting that some of the holiday's most poignant songs were written in mournful minor keys; it is, after all, the celebration of one for whom a majot part of His earthly life was His gruesome death. Singer Chase Holfelder has taken numerous major key songs and switched them over to minor key renditions. It sounds to me like Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" takes on a wholly different character with a simple change of key. Does Holfelder's reimagining of the song appeal to you?
