Beverly Hills, 90210 became a true TV phenomenon when its second season began in the summer of 1991. It's fitting, then, that BH90210, a revival of the original series, is getting a summer debut. The show, which features the core cast playing heightened versions of themselves, premieres Wednesday, Aug. 7, on Fox. It will feature Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling. Did you watch the original show, and are you planning to watch the revival?

There will be cameos by other 90210 alumni, plus some new faces. Sadly, of course, one face that will definitely be missed is Luke Perry, who died one week after the revival was announced, back in March. There is a planned tribute to him in the show, which will honour his memory and his huge part in the original show . Do you think it is touching when TV shows pay tribute to a cast member who has died?

A fairly successful reboot of the show, with a completely different cast was on the air from 2008 to 2013, and during the first two seasons, cast members from the original series made appearances, including Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Ann Gillespie, Tori Spelling and Joe E. Tata.

Although the show started with the cast in high school, all except Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green and Scott Scanlon, were older than high school age. Gabrielle Carteris and Ian Ziering were 29 and 26 respectively.

The new revival will not revisit high school (thankfully) but instead was "inspired by the six original stars' real lives and relationships." The cast will poke fun at themselves and some of the off-camera drama they were part of during the show's initial run. The series will only run for six episodes, and trailers promoting the show have been all over TV. Have you seen any of them?
