Love it or not, you have to give credit where credit is due. When Survivor debuted in the summer of 2000, as a summer replacement show on CBS, many thought it was a one time success story. Flash forward twenty years, and Survivor is still going strong. It was consistently in the top 20 (U.S. TV ratings) for its first 23 seasons, and even with increased competition, is in the top 30. The basic concept -- strand a group of strangers together and have them play until only one survives -- essentially outwit, outplay, outlast. Have you been a loyal watcher of Survivor?

So far, not including this coming season (which debuts on Wednesday, February 12) there have been 590 contestants on the show -- with some competing multiple times due to the show brings about returning players and having "all star" seasons. The first season had a 75-person crew, and by season 22, the crew had grown to 325 people. This coming season will see twenty former winners go against each other with the winner taking home $2 million dollar prize. Did you know any of these Survivor facts?
The oldest contestant to ever appear on the show was former Navy SEAL Rudy Boesch, who starred on the first and eighth seasons of the show at ages 72 and 75, respectively.
