Extreme unboxing. Even the premise sounds ridiculous: Follow a group of people from across the country as they buy liquidated merchandise for pennies on the dollar and unbox it with hopes for big profits. Risking their own money to bid on and win the best boxes at the best prices… Yet, this series just finished up its first season, and will most likely get a second season, because it seemed to appeal to viewers' sense of "opening things"! Do you think this sounds like a strange premise for a TV show?

Strange TV concepts are not a recent thing -- some of our childhood TV series featured plots so strange, it is hard to believe anyone actually thought these would work. And some did. Look at this list, and check off the ones you find completely ridiculous (whether you watched them or not):
The Ugliest Girl in Town (ABC, 1968-1969) -- It wasn't the cross dressing that made this sitcom so outrageous. It was the fact that within the confines of the series the man dressing as a woman was able to pose as a fashion model and nobody seemed to notice.
