Hard to believe there are more than over 13,000 Starbucks stores in the United States, and more than of 13,000 in other locations around the world. Starbucks is the world's 3rd largest fast food chain, by number of stores. We all have to start somewhere, and the Pike Place Starbucks store, commonly called the Original Starbucks, was the first Starbucks store, established in 1971 at Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, Washington. The store has kept its early appearance over time and is subject to design guidelines due to its historic significance. Have you ever visited this original Starbucks?

Tim Hortons is a Canadian institution. There are more than 3,802 in Canada, and 807 in the United States,and about 80 in other countries. Tim Hortons was originally stated in 1964, when Canadian hockey player Tim Horton and Jim Charade, after an initial venture in hamburger restaurants, opened up their first location in Hamilton, Ontario. Although undergoing extensive renovations, the original location is still open, and even houses a small Tim's museum, and a statue of their famous namesake. By numbers, Subway has the most locations worldwide -- a staggering 45,000 and still growing. In 1965, Fred DeLuca borrowed $1,000 from friend Peter Buck to start "Pete's Super Submarines" in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and in the following year, they formed Doctor's Associates Inc. to oversee operations of the restaurants as the franchise expanded.In 1968, the sandwich shop was renamed "Subway". The original Subway is no longer there, but there are many more locations to eat at. Do you enjoy eating at Subway?

The first Waffle House was opened in Decatur, Georgia, in 1955. The original location is now the Waffle House Museum, where you can make your own waffles in its unchanged interior.

Colonel Sanders began selling fried chicken made with his secret recipe from a roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, but strangely enough opened his first Kentucky Fried Chicken in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1952. That location is still a KFC and showcases one of the Colonel's trademark white suits and a statue of him and Dave Thomas, an early franchise owner who came up with the "rotating bucket" sign (and founded his own fast food chain, Wendy's).
