Tell us which worked! and which really sucked and didn't work!
  • keto works
  • Weight Watchers
  • never tried any diets
  • I just watched what I ate for a long time, no fad diet
  • I have never needed to diet.
  • atkins worked for me a lot of eggs and meat
  • It was years ago and it was a diet where all you ate was protein; I had enough steak, burgers and hard boiled eggs to last me a lifetime! I did it for about 2 weeks and lost 20 pounds and kept it off! A few years later when I wanted to lose a few pounds I tried it again but 2nd time it didn't work. I have used Slimfast but not to lose weight; I used it as a breakfast substitue as I don't like eating real food in the morning.
  • I checked no, but N/A would be more accurate. I haven't tried any diets to lose weight.
  • Keto is the only thing that I have been able to stick with. The years now.
  • the only diet that ever work for me is 1 i made up myself i call it WWF standing for water ,walking and fruit , after doing this diet for awhile I was down to a size 3 , the walking was 5 miles a day and the water was a gallon a day with as much fruit that i could all kinds of fruit
  • I have trouble putting on weight, so diets aren't needed.
  • The Mediterranean diet is how I eat and it keeps me at an even weight. If I add any processed stuff like snack foods my weight goes up. Then I just try to do the intermittent fasting diet for a few weeks. It does work well if you stick to it.

  • Go out and buy the book The Wild Diet. I gained 15 pounds with menopause. I've lost 25 pounds with the wild diet. Easy to keep the pounds off because it's a lifestyle, not a diet.

  • vegan and organic foods

  • The best diet for me :. To eat regular my food but in smaller portions ( gradualery to decrease). In the morning I drink 1/2 lemon juice with hot water and honey. To decrease bread and wheat. Once in two days sweets in small portion.
  • What worked for me was eatting mostly veggitables and no bread, very little meat, and dairy and no sugar.
  • cabbage and grapefruit. weight watcher is working for me now and it is long term.
  • They all suck. Just eat right
  • It exceeds all my expectations and provides everything I need. No more comments please and thank you for your time. LOVE...

  • Vegan
  • Weight Watchers
  • Weight Watchers. It's a life style not a diet.
  • none
  • Just cutting back on how much I eat and when.
  • Rather than diet keto just change your lifestyle to keto. But do your research first because keto for women is not the same as keto for men. There are some differences you need to know for this to work for you. When you bake keto, add the thickest no fat yogurt (tbsp at a time so your dessert doesn't get too runny) you can find to desserts and it helps a lot with the dryness of what your baking. Keto baking can turn out dry, almost like gluten free can.
  • None of the above diets, but it was a diet, so I anshwered "yes, long term"--may need a Not Applicable if only want to talk about the diets listed(?)--Just watched carbohydrate intake and exercised! Worked and kept the weight off for over 5 years! Was 191 and lost 36 pounds in a 13-month period, to 155 lbs. New medication caused a weight gain of about 10 lbs and have held 163-165 lbs for the past 10 years!
  • Weight Watchers, to me, is the best as you eat 'real food' not some packaged stuff; you learn portions.
  • Mediterranean, and I love the food. I now maintain a healthy weight and feel great. The key for me is to eat healthy food of any kind and avoid processed and high carb foods.
  • Adkins was the easiest long term diet ever
  • Slimfast worked short term. Ice cream diet didnt
  • I just watched what I ate and when I ate, watched portions and exercised.

  • weight watchers worked

  • south beach
  • i never tried any diet
  • Atkins, and any of the other high protein low carbohydrate diets worked well for me. I lost 18 pounds three years ago and have kept it off without difficulty. Now I pretty much eat what I want, but keep an eye on my weight. If I see the scales go up a couple of pounds, I go back to high protein low carbs until back down.
  • low carb watching what i eat
  • I lost weight on Jenny Craig and also using My Fitness Pal app.
  • Atkins
  • South Beach Diet
  • count calories for what you are eating
  • zoom works
  • I did my own diet, none of the above. I limited my calories to 1200 a day. I made sure every calorie of food I ate was nutritious, no junk like sugar, bread, pasta, etc. I ate lots of salads, using just vinegar and oil for dressing. I ate eggs, chicken, lean meat, lots of steamed veggies and fresh fruit. I lost 41 lbs. and kept it off on this diet until I had and accident and badly injured my leg and hip. It became impossible for me to stand long to prepare food. I started including easy to prepare foods like sandwiches, pastas and toaster waffles. I gained most of the weight back. Now that my hip and leg are better, I’m starting the diet over because I know it works for me and I don’t feel deprived on it. The only drawback is that you have to invest more time and effort into preparing meals and snacks than you would if you ate already prepared food. If you are unwell or have mobility issues, this can be difficult.
  • I lost a lot of weight by just walking and cutting out pop!
  • Never had to diet so wouldn't know.
  • Best thing to do is eat only the serving size and don't eat after 6pm
  • Not applicable.
  • everything works if you stick to it
  • Being hungry
  • Atkins worked, but I seem to have a set-point to which my body defaults, about 25 lb over my "ideal" weight. Because I was very physically active when I worked, I didn't have a problem keeping my weight down, but since I retired, it is harder. I also have arthritis in one knee and my back. Add COVID - I'm a comfort food eater. But at 72, I really don't worry about it.
  • I am too small to be on a diet and never have been .
  • Low carb diet
  • don't need to diet, not enough answer choices
  • The water diet always works for me
  • mmediterranean
  • Low carb diet worked great until I began eating carbs again during the pandemic.
  • I eat less and cut out a lot of the junk food.
  • Plant based
  • atkins..i felt unhealthy
  • I don't "diet" I just eat healthy serving sizes when I'm hungry and don't over do it on the desserts and it's worked very well for me in life.
  • Reducing carbs and sugar
  • Taking fiber not only helped me walk off 80 pounds but helped to clear up my (ibs)
  • Atkins diet works the best for me. The keto diet was hard and not a lot of foods when your a picky eater
  • Because the diet was to get on a healthy diet my doctor put me on. I am still eating right.
  • Watch your calories and the fat will melt away!!!
  • I have never been on a structured diet but I try to practice healthy eating habits. If I needed to lose weight I simply eliminated sodas, baked goods, white bread, and other high calorie comfort foods. Substitute wheat or whole grains, brown or wild rice for white rice. Fresh fruits for sweets.
  • slim fast

  • n/a
  • Atkins worked, 1200 calories per day worked
  • the cabbage soup diet worked short term
  • cabbage soup diet.
  • After years of dieting, I am still overweight, and now, I have diabetes. So I'm sticking to a Whole Food Plant-Based No oil nutrition, and am doing rather well. Loosing all that weight on idiotic diets has certainly had to do with my current condition. Beware of Keto, it is a trap. It doesn't help your insuline sensitivity, sometimes even making it worse. THat's the beginning of Type 2 diabetes.
  • Mediterranean Diet works because it is simply a healthy way of eating. WW works for me using the app because it helps me to easily keep track of what and how much I am eating. I also find I end up eating healthier because non-starchy fruits and vegetables do not have to be counted in the points system. I tried fad diets when I was younger but experience taught me they don't work. I think everyone has to find what works for them.
  • ATKINS SHORT TERM. MRC A LITTLE LONGER, BUT STILL UNABLE TO KEEP TO IT WITHOUT HIGH CARBS.
  • keto is great
  • Haven't tried any diet before
  • Back in the 1970's my husband and I went on the Atkins Diet (which was a lot different than the one today). He lost over 50 lbs and I lost 30. We both kept it off for a long time.
  • Old school diet, exercise ,and portion control. In short ? Self discipline.
  • WW (Weight Watchers). I've kept the weight off for almost 8 years
  • Eat in moderation, small portions Eat half what’s on your plate and save the rest for a little later Eat often, Eat healthy Eat fresh foods
  • Tried Weight watchers and that worked.
  • Weight Watchers worked for me I learned the diet so now I stay on it and it doesnt cost me. Alot of those fad diets are a joke.
  • Atkins worked great but so does watching calorie intake.
  • Don't remember
  • All were the same.(no progress). Basically I stopped trying. The fact that I always work so I'm constantly moving... And that cuts my appetite. I can't be comfortable while eating big at work.. So just enough to help me be more energetic.
  • None worked.
  • Just stop stuffing you face with JUNK food.
  • Atkins was the best for me
  • Optavia worked and continues to work for me.
  • they all work for as long as you can force yourself to only eat one thing or only eat plain boring foods
  • Slim fast
  • nutrisystem, south beach
  • Sugar Buster
  • I never diet. I have a health problem. If I want weight to come off, I just wait until I'm sick again and then I lose weight regardless. I wouldn't recommend this as a "weight loss plan."
  • weight watchers
  • Diets don’t work
  • When I was young I did the grapefruit, bacon and lettuce diet.. I lost a lot of weight but then, when you're young, it's easier to lose the pounds.
  • Grapefruit diet
  • I tried Weight Watchers and had success with that, but you have to have your mind into it.
  • not dieting 30 minutes brisk walk twice a day for a year. Dropped 22lbs! Not fast but weight stays off.
  • NA
  • The Gallbladder diet; I'd never been in so much pain and the wait-list for gallbladder removal surgery was a year. I needed to survive a year without going to the emergency so I tried it and stuck to it. The first month, I lost 30 lbs. I kept with it for a year till I got my surgery and never felt healthier.
  • ww was ok but was expensive, jenny craig no,nutrisystem was awful
  • I've lost 22 pounds with the keto diet, but I ended up hating my life...
  • no snacks,no big helpings,keep active.
  • Grilled chicken, salad with lemon dressing, portions is key. Give in to chocolate but limit portions. Drinking lots of water. No alcohol no drug or pills. Exercise moderately every night, rest on Sunday.
  • if you eat only real food you will lose massive weight because you will never be really hungry.
  • na
  • Nothing because a bunch of fascist imbecile crazies have decided (jealousy I suppose) what I should weigh and it has nothing to do with food consumption along with all sorts of dehumanizing and insulting names that speak volumes of their ignorance
  • South beach but couldn’t stand the Mediterranean flavors and especially the balsamic vinegar
  • I have tried weight watchers, seeing a dietician every week, and on my own.None have worked for me.I do not have willpower to stay on it long enough.i did when I was seeing a dietician, but did not lose weight.
  • ww
  • it works to eat healthy with LOADS of fresh fruit and veggies and do some moderate exercise at least 3 or 4 days a week. Eating everything else in moderation really works well too. When you don't think of it as a diet rather than a lifestyle you will keep off the weight. YES, indulge a bit but then go back to your healthy eating habits. Nobody can be good all the time. AND btw, I eat an ounce of dark chocolate daily as I love it and its pretty healthy.
  • Atkins works but not long term, it can also make you sick to deprive your body of carbs. I actually ended up in the hospital so I don't recommend trying it.
  • Intermittent fasting.
  • Just cutting back does it for me.
  • NOTHING NOTHING
  • so hard to loose weight on a diet as not all diets work for everyone. A sensible combination of good exercise and sensible eating ( no sweets, sodas, chips etc.) often works just as well but you have to have the willpower to work oaths regimes for a long time.
  • The cabbage diet worked for a short time. The Keto diet worked until I started cheating.
  • Low fat and higher protein is best for weight loss.
  • All of the above did very little except pass gas and time.
  • na
  • None
  • none i gained more
  • Slim Fast shakes helped me lose 20 pounds and that was 15 years ago. I have maintained that weight loss
  • weight watchers is good it teaches how to eat properly
  • Counting calories and writing it down
  • None
  • Did not care for slim-fast, taste and effectiveness
  • choosing foods that are healthy low sugar low fat and smaller portions and exercise
  • Haven't really tried any of the above... Just limited quantities, carbs (no sugar or "white stuff" other than cauliflower, no "junk," no snacking after dinner... And no liquids other than water or plain tea or coffee. Lost 20 pounds in a year, and the "diet" is easy to continue to maintain weight.
  • Everything and anything in MODERATION. Eat less and do more.
  • I was on the Atkins diet for 6 weeks. I was very conscientious, and I lost zero weight. A terrible diet for me!
  • I did not follow a specific plan...I ate anything I wanted but limited my calorie intake to no more than 1,200 calories a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If I want a 140 calorie soda I have it or a 300 calorie slice of cake, however, once my calories are used up for the day no more eating or drinking. I also exercise (running, weight lifting, stretching, etc.) 5 to 6 days a week. It is a life style.
  • Never tried any of them
  • Nothing at all
  • none
  • Never tried diet products
  • Atkins.
  • Diet does not work
  • Ideal Protein diet worked great. But had a medical issue (not related) and almost reversed all I accomplished.
  • N/A - I've never been on a speciic diet to lose weight.
  • Intermittent fasting worked for me but have done it short term. Just had to reduce weight suitable before training.
  • NEVER WENT ON A DIET YOU LEFT NO SLOT FOR THAT ANSWER GET WITH IT!!!
  • None of them really work for me except using Slim Fast. I'm a picky eater. There are lots of foods I don't like or that I'm allergic to. So I just use Slim Fast & portion control.
  • I never had to diet to lose weight
  • tried nothing, so it didn't have to work
  • mine worked i did myself
  • Most of the diets work as long as you follow them. Human behavior usually can't stick to such a strict diet.
  • N/A
  • I did lots of diets but it never worked for me either. So now I drink more water ,cut back on sweets and eat a lot less and this is how I'm losing weight and I do feel a lot better about myself now. It took 2 years and I'm close to reach my desired weight .
  • The HCG diet worked great. I lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks. But, when I tried to do a second round to lose another 10, my body rejected it and I started getting sick.
  • Atkins worked - but I was miserable
  • Cut out the sugar and caffeine!
  • Weight Watchers worked
  • None of them
  • Nothing listed.
  • Every diet worked but it was expensive buying the food and it got harder and harder fighting the cravings as time passed, the longest I was on a diet plan was 2 years and lost 140 pounds, since I have gained 100 pounds back.
  • Low carbs
  • Atkins
  • none of them worked for me--I was on keto and gained weight:(
  • I have used Hydroxycut several times and it works.
  • Mediterranean works & food is delicous
  • None of these. I had to go to a diet doctor.
  • Grapefruit diet and it sucked because it taste horrible
  • I just watched what I ate. When I accedently binged (or on purpose I realized I was human and didnt give up. Took 2 years and lost almost 100 lbs
  • The keto diet worked but now very expensive to stay on it. I did the slim fast shake , but their bars contain nuts which I’m allergic to. Didn’t work for me.
  • Just got a little more expensive and then I’ll be
  • weight watches was the best because it taught you how and what to eat. Never starved on that diet.
  • 3-day cardio diet worked like a charm. All stuff you already have in your kitchen and who can't do 3 days?
  • Low carb, low sugar, low processed works but you have to keep it up
  • The Dr told my mom before she left the hospital with me to look out for this one. He could tell by the way I "latched on" to her. He as right. I've tried every diet known to mankind in my many decades of life. I've lost 50 to 100 lbs. I finally had bariatric surgery and it sort of worked. I'm still a bit overweight but not anywhere what I was.
  • 3
  • I watch my intake of sugars, fats and starches. Steam my meat eat more veggies and lots of water. Fruits before meals
  • the only thing that ever worked for me was counting calories years ago and I lost 30# in a month
  • fresg fruit and veggies
  • U watched my food due diabetes... the diabetic diet works the best combined with walking and some gym time

  • I just watched what I ate and how much I ate. Also watched what I drank too.
  • I don’t consider it dieting, but a lifestyle.
  • low carb worked for a couple years
  • Water diet..no food just water to shrink stomach. Got sick!!!
  • Atkins worked well. Nutrisystem gives very small portions, noteworthy the $$$$.
  • Intermittent fasting and HCG diet
  • Never dieted
  • I was on a low carb diet and that worked,
  • Weight Watchers worked for me short term. I am currently on TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). It has the same weekly weight check for accountability but is a whole lot cheaper.
  • With Keto I lost 18 pounds, but then gained 13 back when winter came
  • grapefruit
  • When I became ill and had to change my meds, my body changed its food preferences and had to cut back 50 percent of intake. Am under a dr care and have lost 50 lbs so far. Am very slowly regaining a tiny bit of appetite back. Source was heart is in trouble and now I am sleeping and taking it easy most every day.
  • Never had to be on a diet
  • Really works Mediterranean. Atkins not working.
  • Cabbage worked gas and all but after a while I couldn’t eat cabbage anymore. Slim-fast made me find out I had a lactose intolerance to milk because I lived in the toilet and I gained weight because I was hungrier. Now I use a food tracker, count calories and keep myself in check and it helps me lose weight...slow but it works.
  • I did a modified keto/low carb (the four hour body, specifically), lost 50 pounds, about 6 years ago, and I'm no longer on it but I kept the weight off.
  • Candida
  • Weight Watchers works but I cannot keep on a diet for a lifetime and eventually gained the 15 pounds back.
  • Good
  • black coffee (espresso) with no sugar to start the day yogurt or a banana for breakfast any kind of pasta or rice for lunch and 1 glass of wine or beer for drink an apple or a glass of orange juice in the afternoon potato salad, or grilled chicken/ salmon, or pizza for dinner with 1 glass of wine/beer no more food after 8:00 p.m., just San Pellegrino (natural sparkling) water to drink
  • never on a diet
  • just taking sugar out of my diet
  • Permanently changing your eating habits works best and is healthiest. Eat less red meat, almost no processed meat (bacon, sausage, etc.) and more fish and meals without meat. Eat more vegetables of all kinds but without rich toppings. Eat fruit but go easy on desserts. Be as physically active as you are able. None of the others work because when you go off them you gain the weight right back.
  • Keto
  • Mediterranean
  • Intermittent fasting
  • I mostly find that if I instill my own type of diet (ie cutting down my portion size, watching how much not healthy food I eat) is the most successful for me. I actually gained weight when I did the slimfast shakes because I was still hungry so I ate more while drinking the shakes..
  • Weight watchers is the only sensible diet that works.
  • Only will work if you take in lesser calories a day.
  • I used to count calories. I was losing a bit of weight slowly. It was ok.
  • Be careful with the Keto diet. It is only healthy if used short-term.
  • More exercise and changing from being in a relationship to being single took off 40 lbs
  • Cabbage diet worked but you get tired of eating the soup everyday.
  • just eating less and getting exercise daily.
  • Reducing caloric intake, focusing on healthy calories, and exercise. None of the fads or other diets work
  • What mainly worked for me was low carb living, not really a diet—a life style. Lost 55 lbs in 6 months and have gained about 10 lbs in 8 years. Here it is and it worked for me: 45 carbs each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and 15 carbs each between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. I guarantee you won’t believe how many carbs are in certain foods!! Remember it’s for life..
  • Nobody work For me sorry

  • I was sent to a Cardiac Dietician. I went to a Workshop about Healthy Eating at our local hospital for a Saturday afternoon a few years ago. She said several important things: 1) Ignore Calories 2) Eat 35 grams of Fiber a day 3) absolutely NO TRANS FATS 4) When you shop, stay away from middle aisles, shop all fresh ingredients on the outside aisles, 5) Eat as Much Fruit and Vegetables as you want every day 6) Avoid Fast Food, the most unhealthy item in a Hamburger is the bun! 7) Women should drink 9 glasses of wine in a week, a little everyday, not all on Friday night! Men can have 14 glasses, 8) Your plate should have foods of every colour. I went home and cleaned out my cupboards and got rid of everything contrary to her instructions and gave it to the food bank, if already opened, tossed it. After 6 weeks I lost 17 pounds. My Cholesterol went down and so did my blood pressure, my Doctor was very happy and told me not to stop, keep doing this. I have been doing this for years now, my weight is stable and Cholesterol and blood pressure are good. The Doctor tweaked my fruit eating, as my blood sugar increased slightly but not above normal but in the high normal. So He advised me to eat my fruit in the morning or afternoon not at night. Fruit is high in sugar and when you eat it at night you do not burn up the sugar. I always read the nutrition labels on everything, beware of too much sodium, and too much sugar, NO TRANS FATS. I enjoy Smart Pasta, that is Pasta High in Fiber, I do eat less bread, but I don't miss it. I feel great and have never been able to eat 35 grams of fiber in a day, that is a lot of food. It's about changing your life not a Fad Diet.
