A while ago, I remember someone doing a very informative survey on alternative uses for old socks - it's revolutionized my old sock situation. On that score, I realized I may have a few tips to share, on the matter of hair ornaments. Have you any suggestions for other alternative uses for hair ornaments?

No - even soaking them in peroxide wouldn't convince me they were clean!

I've found that certain types of hair clips can be used in place of clipboard clips. In the event that you needed something for a clipboard, didn't have the standard clip for such purpose, but did have a readily available hair clip that could work, is this something you would do?
Sure!

One time I wanted to make a purse out of an old school supply kit, so I could use it when walking outside. I had a purse strap with clasps, so I took two old hairbands and sewed one on each side of the kit, for the clasps to latch onto. Not the only way to convert the kit to a purse, naturally, but it did the trick. Have you ever done something like this?
Yes I have.

When I was little, I also used to collect hair bands and scrunchies like up above, clean and dry them, and then use them for my Barbie dolls. Most of the time they were too big to use on the dolls the way humans use them, but they fit nicely as hats or tiaras. Whether you or someone you know has ever played with Barbies, did you/they ever do this?
