If you remember 1917, congratulations! You're over 100 years old, and that's amazing! I would hazard to guess almost all of us do not remember 1917, and so hearing about these things that are 100 years old this year will be a bit of a shock! 100 years ago, the U.S. was just entering World War 1, Woodrow Wilson was starting his second term as the President, Babe Ruth was still on the White Sox and on this day (May 29) John F Kennedy was born. How many of these other iconic brands are you surprised are celebrating their 100 years anniversary?
Girl Scout Cookies -- the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma, came up with the brilliant scheme of selling cookies. Five years later, the Girl Scouts organization suggested cookie sales as a fundraiser in its official magazine.
