Hello, I recently found a book (Lonely Planet's "Volunteer: a traveller's guide to making a difference around the world") that discusses international volunteer opportunities. After reading it, I wondered how common this type of experience is.

Lack of time (these types of opportunities normally require 4 plus weeks of time commitment minimum)
