A Brantford, Ontario, man, Wayne Etmanski, better known as the "deer whisperer," has spent nearly 30 years living in the woods for days, weeks, even months at a time, documenting and living alongside wild white-tailed deer. A bad back and subsequent surgery took him out of the woods for two years. This May marked his first time back since. He missed it too much to not return. Unfortunately, he did not find his beloved herd intact -- in fact he found the the matriarch of the herd, Etmanski's "No. 1" deer, dead. He had gotten so close to her over the past 17 years that he was even there when she gave birth. Do you know anyone who is this closely attuned to animals of any kind?

40-year old photographer Steve Gray is about as close as you can get to being a real-life Dr Dolittle. He has been snapping birds, voles and rats for the past three years and has developed such an intimate bond with the animals that they happily approach him with no fear. And that means that he's able to take shots of wildlife from remarkably close quarters.

43-year-old Ruthy Bradshaw, from Colchester, Essex, offers therapy to anxious pets and counseling to their owners, but her methods are unconventional to say the least. Ruthy calls herself a real-life Dr. Dolittle and claims to be able to communicate with animals, interpreting various signals and making up a voice of them talking back to her, in her head.
