Scientists have long suspected that the "pits" on the Moon's surface were actually entrances to lunar caves. Using radar, they successfully traced the pit's walls down to a rock pile between 130 and 170 meters below the surface, with underground paths leading away from it. The team said that the newly confirmed cave was likely created by lava flows through lunar rock millions or even billions of years ago. Sound interesting?
