My family is moving to a new home in the town that we now live in. Before we had considered even buying the new house, my husband was doing the plumbing there and asked me to stop by the house to take a look at it. I ended up taking a walk with my son over to the new house and didn't even get to the driveway before the neighbor was running across the street with her two children. I'm a very friendly person by nature and didn't think twice. We conversed for a few minutes and then I was bombarded with a 101 questions (was I buying the house, if so how much?, how many kids do I have?...the questions just kept coming). To add insult to injury her kids were climbing all over my son's wagon, she tried picking up my son and I found out that one of her 5 kids was sick with the flu. I finally had to cut her off and start walking away. I don't want to have her children over at my house constantly (free babysitting), come home to her kids playing on my son's toys in the backyard, or better yet, her at my front door everyday. Have you ever had a push neighbor?

While I need to put my foot down from the start, I also don't want to create conflict since I will be living across the street from this woman. How have you dealt with a pushy neighbor? Do you think I'm jumping the gun and should just give this neighbor a chance or should I put my foot down right away?
