Do you have a problem with the government accepting a 4 year old's consent to refuse treatment?

Since no one died and came back to report what happens after death, do you think that no matter how strongly some people believe in the version of death presented to this girl by her mother, it was morally wrong to do of her mother since there is no empirical evidence supporting these assumptions?

This disease, although progressive, does not cause pain and could last for years. What are your thought on this case study, that was presented in my philosophy class?
