Are you aware that Chinese investors are the largest group of foreign residential buyers in North America?

Chinese buying is expected to increase even more as investors seek a safe haven for cash. Canada, particularly the cities of Vancouver and Toronto, has long been among the top targets for Chinese property investors. In Vancouver, the average home price has jumped almost 40 per cent in five years (currently the average selling price of a detached home is just under 1.83 million and a condo apartment just under $455,000.00). The USA and Australia have also seen a large volume of Chinese home sales. Many residents are worried that such buying artificially inflates home sales and makes the dream of owing a home impossible for them. Does it concern you that so many Chinese investors are buying up residences in Canada and the USA?

In Canada, the provinces and federal government are still talking about studying the situation but nothing has changed. Do you think the Canadian and American governments need to do more to limit or change foreign ownership?
