Perhaps one of the most famous sculptures in modern times, the LOVE sculpture, by pop artist Robert Indiana, is also one of the most photographed ones. Prolific throughout the 1960s, the artist, who was born Robert Clark and later took the name of his native state as his own, is widely remembered as the creator of the quadrangular LOVE design — four stacked letters and a tilted "O" — that has become iconic. Although Indiana himself created many of the largerscale and well-known works, there were also hundreds or thousands of knockoffs —the original one being in Philadelphia, in JFK Plaza (which will eventually become known as "LOVE Park") as a temporary installation for the 1976 Bicentennial celebration. It now sits in the Indianpolis Museum of Art. Have you ever had your photo taken in front of any famous LOVE sculptures?

If you're tending a broken heart this Valentine's Day, you could eat ice cream for a tub or you could engage in some petty revenge by christening a cockroach with your ex's namesake. The Hemsley Conservation Centre in Kent, England, offers a "name a cockroach" program that allows you to name one of its insects whatever you want for only about $2. Or if you are looking for insect-based payback a little closer to home, the Bronx Zoo has a similar program that allows you to name one of their 50,000 giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches, though they're taking a more positive spin encouraging people to name a bug after their love as a $15 symbol of unending love. And the Zoo Boise in Idaho offers a similar option for only $10. Do you have a special someone or not-so-special ex you would like to honour with either of these options?
