An Indian couple named their newborn twins Corona and Covid in an effort to put a positive spin on the deadly pandemic that is sweeping the globe. The twins arrived on March 27 at B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, central India. The parents said what started as nicknames for the twins by the hospital staff just stuck. Vinay and Preeti Verma said, "We wished to ease the anxiety and fear associated with these words and also make the occasion memorable." Do you think this was a good idea?

Babies are often named after popular and inspirational media or news figures. Disney's The Little Mermaid made Ariel so popular that right after the movie came out, Ariel ranked No. 66 among the most popular baby names. Arya's rise in the rankings parallels the record-breaking viewership of HBO's Game of Thrones. After its 2011 television debut, the name rose to No. 201. Rarely does an tragic event do the same. So, it may come as a bit of a surprise that couples are naming their babies the following -- have you heard about these?

While the choices in the previous question may be a little too much for many of us, some of these "nods" to the pandemic are actually quite nice (in my opinion). Which of these names do you like for girls?

In April, a baby tiger who was born during quarantine has been named "Covid" at the Mexican Africa Bio Zoo in Cordoba (Veracruz). Zoo staff say the name is one of "hope" because the virus, despite being deadly, has forced people to "rethink". I know it's hard to separate the name from the virus pandemic, but I actually think this is a cute name for the tiger. Do you agree?
