Results: What do you think is an appropriate age for a child to stay home by themselves for an hour or so?

I started staying home with my little brother after school for about an hour until my mom got home from work when I was in 4th grade, at 9 years old. I wouldn't let my 10 year old son watch his sisters at home right now, but I would consider letting him stay home by himself if I needed to, because he is very mature for his age.
