Worldwide research shows that the SIDS rate is lowest (and even unheard of) in countries where co-sleeping is the norm. Further research shows that carbon dioxide exhaled by a parent actually works to stimulate a baby's breathing. Co-sleeping babies also spend more time sleeping on their back and side, which also reduces the risk of SIDS. Do you/did you co-sleep with your child/children?

Research shows that co-sleeping babies sleep more peacefully, have more stable temperatures, regular heart rhythms, and fewer long pauses in breathing compared to crib sleeping babies. Another study also suggests people who co-slept as babies grew up with higher self-esteem, became independent sooner, are better behaved in school, have fewer psychiatric problems, and are more comfortable with affection. Does any of this information make you feel more positively towards co-sleeping?
