I was 37 when I got pregnant with my youngest and was pretty much almost coerced to consent to amniocentesis. The doctor was stating that at my age over 35 the baby is at higher risk for genetic defects and implied that I should abort if the baby is indeed has them. I refused this invasive test but complied with multiple ultrasounds. Which answer corresponds the best with the way you feel? we cannot ignore the "white elephant in the room" - costs of disabled on healthcare system therefore on taxpayers is high in Canada and the USA.
