Results: Do you believe that all dog food is essentially the same and that companies just lie when they have better ingredients?

We had 2 small breed dogs from birth to when they died at age 15. We always fed them what i thought was good food, then there was that melamine scare for certain dogs food. We switched to raw food, then back to cheaper food later. They both developed diabetes around 12 and were on insulin until they died. We always worried that it was the food we gave them and regretted ever stopping the raw diet. Have you ever fed your dog a raw food diet? If so comment about what types of raw food you fed them. We would buy discounted meat like beef, chicken legs and thighs, chicken livers.

Do you remember the melamine recall? If so was your brand affected? If not did you change brands or go to a raw food just in case?

Do you think all dog food brands are basically the same and that it doesn't matter what you feed your dog? If so what is the cheapest brand of dog food you have ever purchased? For myself it was Kibbles and Bits.

Have you ever had to give your dog daily insulin doses for diabetes? If so how many years did they live with diabetes?

Do you think things like cancer or diabetes are a new development with dogs, caused by environment or diet or have they always been around and dogs died with those things, we just didn't worry about it or know because we didn't take them to the vets as often as people do now, so we would have just assumed they died of old age or natural causes.
