Results: Made in the USA - Does it matter?
Published on 12/07/2012
Apple has announced that they will be manufacturing one or more of their Mac computers in the USA. Rising Chinese labor costs and increases in fuel costs have eroded some of the advantages of Far-east assembly. The corporation will also be able to play up the 'Made in America' image. Some critics though claim that while the products themselves may be built in the USA this will not translate to an significant increase in employment opportunities as the majority of the work will be done by machine.
When deciding on the purchase of consumer goods do you consider where the item was made?
