When you first started making local telephone calls, how many numbers did you dial, if you first used a rotary model, or punch, if the first telephone you used was touchtone (including cellular)?

I believe it's only been within the last two weeks since I've had to start using ten digits, which includes my area code, to make a local call. When I was a pre-teen, I recall having to only use the last four digits of a local telephone number to make a call. When was the last time the number of digits you've had to use to make a local call changed where you live?

I remember adapting easily to going from four to seven digits to make a local call, but going from seven to ten? I'm still forgetting every now and again! How easy or difficult was it for you to remember the number of digits you've to use to make a local call changed?
It was a cinch!
