This ship stands in a Pioneer Village Museum about 12 km south of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. My brother actually did some welding on the ship to help restore it. I have visited the ship in the museum many times. I find his story fascinating! Does this sound like an interesting place to visit?

There is a book written loosely based on Tom Sukanen and his ship called Dustship Glory by Andreas Schroeder. It is set during the hardships of the "Dirty Thirties", Dustship Glory describes Sukanen's mythic effort to escape both the drought and pestilence of his time, as well as his own personal struggle to be free. It is an amazing book that really explains what people went through during the thirties! Would this be a book that would interest you?

Why or why not?
  • I love this book...I have read it a couple of times!
  • I have no interest in a man who left his family to "find himself". What a selfish jerk.
  • I prefer historical fiction...
