Mistakes happen. We learn from our mistakes, and make sure they do not happen again...or do we? In the 80s, the Dayton Daily News managed to accidentally switch the captions for Gary Larson's The Far Side and Dennis The Menace, not once, but twice. And the funny things about both switches, even Larson agreed that the results were funnier than the originals. Have you ever seen a headline or photo caption that was accidently switched or just plain incorrect?

The UK Guardian is famously known for its typos, and has been proudly confounding its readers for over 200 years. It even once printed its own name as the "Gaurdian". They've misspelled names, referring to a certain Professor Norman Morris as Norma, called the president of the European Central Bank, Dim Duisenberg (should have been Wim), referred to Shakespeare's play as "The Taming Of The Screw", and called Miles Davis album "Sketches of Pain" (when Spain was meant). In 2007 the paper even printed "We misspelled the word misspelled twice, as mispelled, in the Corrections and clarifications column on September 26". It was so often that they did make typos, they even noted, in January 1999: "The absence of corrections yesterday was due to a technical hitch rather than any sudden onset of accuracy." Do you think a newspaper should be more diligent when it comes to proofreading?
