Frost flowers normally occur in the late fall or early winter mornings, the conditions have to be just right to create them. Very thin layers of ice are pushed out from the stems creating wonderful patterns which curl into gorgeous petioles. Have you ever seen a frost flower?

Nature has its own way of rolling snowballs 'snow donuts' which are only formed under perfect temperature conditions. Chunks of snow are blown by the wind picking up material along the way but the center tends to collapse which creates the donut shape. If you have snow where you live have you ever seen one.?

Artist Simon Beck is known for creating delicate and incredibly detailed art in the snow just by walking over a fresh snowfall. He literally walks miles to create these pieces. He started making them when he found he could no longer run properly due to problems with his feet but found it easy to plod around in snow. He typically works 5 to 9 hours a day on his designs. Do you think he's putting too much time into something that can be destroyed over night by a fresh snow fall or a strong gust of wind?
