If you do eat at Freshii, does this news that they are outsourcing jobs to cheaper countries for less pay make you less likely to eat there?

Government restrictions on restaurants forced many to turn to technology in order to comply with lockdown rules and find cost efficiencies as sales declined. The virtual cashier is supposed to help with staffing shortages as well. Do you think these are legitimate reasons to outsource?

"This is another example, I think, of the law perhaps not keeping up with technology," employment lawyer Jon Pinkus told CTV News Channel on Wednesday. "If companies can get out of [provincial employment standards] by simply saying, 'we're going to go to a country where the wage is less' and that takes away work from people here, then that could pose an ethical issue," Pinkus said. "On the other hand, I'm sure the companies would argue that these are jobs that we were unable to fill in Ontario, and therefore it's just a function of the labour market." Do you think Freshii or other companies who do this should have to prove they are unable to fill the jobs in Ontario first before moving to other countries?
