Tourists banned from Venice after illegally diving into canal

A British-Romanian tourist couple was kicked out of Venice after illegally swimming in the Grand Canal, an act banned to protect cleanliness, safety, and public hygiene. Gondoliers alerted police, who removed the couple, fined them €450 each, and barred them from the historic center for 48 hours.
